Bec's Adventures in Africa

I am not a cat person. However, two days ago we took a cat home with us. His name is Beef. We have a rat problem in the school house so Jamie decided to take a cat from our friends house down the road. On our way home, the cat jumped out of Jamie's arms and ran into someone's yard. Since most yards have a fence around them here, Beef found the only hole in the fence and squeezed through to another yard. We were a sight trying to run around these fenced in yards to catch the cat which I didn't really want in the first place. Jamie cornered him and we managed to get him to our place. Once we got home, we had to have a counseling session with our two dogs (Posho and Lizzy) and the cat (Beef). I have never seen a cat stiffen up so much at the sight of a dog. He went crazy. Anyway, we ended up keeping him in a closet in the school house for a time. One night after we had all gotten in bed we heard a loud meow. Jamie and I put on jackets and went outside to find that the cat had climbed up and out the window which was about seven feet above the ground. We proceeded to catch the cat and put him away. We had to have our guard help to close the window so Beef would stay in the closet. Slowly we are letting Beef out. Wow. Cats are such high maintenance creatures. I think I will stick with dogs.
